2016 GCE A-Level Results

RVHS Integrated Programme Graduates Continue to Achieve Good Results
1.    River Valley High School's seventh batch of 396 Integrated Programme graduates have, like their seniors, done exceedingly well in the GCE A-Level Examination.

2.     We would like to congratulate our graduates on the following achievements:
  • 98.7% scored at least 3H2 + GP pass
  • 98.2% scored at least 4H2 + GP pass
  • 28 students attained a perfect score of 90 rank points
  • 126 students attained a score between 86 and 90 rank points
  • 31 students scored 6 distinctions
  • 24 students scored 7 or more distinctions
3.     The school would like to thank and acknowledge everyone who has contributed to the success of our graduates. They include the following people:

  •        Participated in Engineering Research project as part of the Ministry of Education (MOE) Gifted Education Branch Science Mentorship Programme

           Represented Singapore at the Centre for Excellence in Education - Research Science Institute (CEE-RSI) 2015 in Boston, United States of America

           Project leader of team: Distinction at the 20th Youth Science Conference in 2014

           6th International Symposium on Functional Materials in 2014 and the 7th International Science Youth Forum in 2015

           2015 and 2016 recipient of MOE Pre-University Scholarship and River Valley (RV) Outstanding Scholars Award for consistent leadership excellence in academic performance and co-curricular activities (CCAs)

           President of the RV Science Leaders' Academy (SLA)

           Implemented the SLA Junior-Senior Support Programme

           Defence Science and Technology Agency Junior College (JC) Scholarship and the Agency for Science, Technology and Research Science Award (JC) in 2015 and 2016

           Volunteered at the weekly Meet-The-People Session since 2015

           RV Big Hearts Award for four consecutive years from 2012 to 2015

           MOE Edusave Character Award in 2013, 2014 and 2015

           RV Balanced Education Curriculum (BEC) Award in 2012, 2013 and 2014

           Member of the Humanities and Social Sciences Leaders Academy

           Participated in the Material Science and Engineering Mentorship Programme in 2016 and the Nanyang Research Programme (NRP) in 2015

           Participated in the Singapore Science and Engineering Fair and presented at the Nanyang Research Programme Symposium in 2015 where she was awarded a Silver medal

           Part of a team that consolidated their ideas on globalisation into a video and was selected to present to Education Minister Education, Mr Ng Chee Meng, during the school's 60th anniversary in 2016

           Competed at the Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy 'Presenting Futures' competition in 2016, where she had to research and generate a proposal on a vision for Singapore's future

           Part of Grow, Excel and Magnify (GEM) Talent Programme in 2015

           Captain of the River Valley Floorball Team

           Part of the stARTSmall organising committee to organise street sales and two concerts to raise funds for the Dyslexia Association of Singapore

           Vice-president of the Science Leaders' Academy (SLA) in 2015

           Planning committee for Junior Science Whiz Challenge and Science Enrichment Camp from 2013 to 2016

           Student Director (Research) of HSSLA

           Vice-President Infocomm Club

           Leader of team: Championship Award (Secondary Category) at the National Junior Robotics Competition and the First Lego League Singapore in 2013 and 2015 respectively

           Represented school and Singapore in the First Lego League World Festival 2015, attaining the Best Research Award (3rd)

           Vice-Captain of House in Student Council in 2015

           Planning committee for RV MUN and RevelFest

           Member of the RV Service and Citizenship Society

           Initiated fund-raising project and raised $10,000 for the Dyslexia Association of Singapore

           Part of the organising committee for the New Year Countdown at Boon Lay in 2015 and 2016.

           Served as emcee and facilitator 2014 inter-school Bicultural Camp and Y.LEAD Seminar 2015
    She participated in UK Geography Talent Development Programme in 2015

           Received the school Colours Award in 2015 for leadership in Chinese Orchestra and other non-academic areas
