Financial Assistance Schemes

MOE Financial Assistance Scheme (FAS)

The Ministry of Education has enhanced the MOE FAS to increase the income ceiling to $2,500 wef Mar 2012. To be eligible for MOE FAS under the new criteria, the gross household income should not be more than $2,500 per month or the per capita income should not be more than $625 per month. Details on the eligibility and benefits for recipients of the MOE FAS can be found in the table below:



  • Applicant must be Singapore citizen
  • Families must meet one of the following criteria:
    • Gross Household Income (GHI) should not be more than $2500 per month; or
    • Per capita income (PCI) should not be more than $625 per month

  • Full waiver of school fees ($5 for secondary levels and $6 for JC levels)
  • Full waiver of standard miscellaneous fees ($10 per month for secondary levels and $13.50 per month for JC levels)
  • Free textbooks and school attire for secondary levels. Bursary of $750 for JC levels
  • S120 transport credit per annum for students taking public transport
  • School Meal Programme for secondary levels
