JC Orientation 2026 – Aurea
Dear students,
A warm welcome to River Valley High School! We look forward to meeting
you on Wednesday, 4 February 2026, at 7.45am for JC Orientation 2026 – Aurea.
To ensure that you are well prepared to begin your junior college journey
with us, please take note of the following important information.
Attire
· Returning RVIP Students: RVHS
Half-Uniform / Full-Uniform
· JAE Students: Secondary
School Half-Uniform / Full-Uniform
Reporting Venue
The reporting venue is the Multi-Purpose Court (MPC),
with morning assembly commencing at 8.00am. Signages will
be placed at all entry points to guide you to the MPC and our Orientation
Committee members will be stationed around the campus to assist with directions.
Students arriving by private transport may alight at the drop-off point in front of the school’s General Office.
JAE students may check their Orientation Groups (OGs) on
the notice board located outside the General Office before proceeding to
the MPC.

· Money for lunch / EZ-Link card /
PayLah account on a mobile device
First Day Programme
The highlights of the first day include getting to know your Orientation
Group (OG) members, as well as the Opening Ceremony, which
will officially kickstart JC Orientation 2026 – Aurea.
JAE students will also attend a subject combination briefing and
visit the respective subject booths to help them make an informed choice
regarding their subject combinations. More information on the 2026 JC1 subject combinations and individual subjects offered can
be found here,
and students are encouraged to review this before reporting day.
An optional qualifying test will be conducted at 3.15pm for students intending
to offer:
· H2 Computing; and
did not offer GCE O-Level Computing OR did not obtain at least A2 for GCE
O-Level Computing;
· H2 Translation;
and have not met the MOE subject pre-requisite of at least A2 for English
Language AND at least B3 for Higher Chinese OR at least A2 for Chinese
at the GCE O-Level Examinations.
Dismissal Time for the First Day (4 Feb 2026)
· RVIP students not taking the H2
Computing or H2 Translation qualifying tests will be dismissed by 12.00pm.
· JAE students not taking the qualifying
tests will be dismissed by 3.15pm.
· Students sitting for the H2 Computing
or H2 Translation qualifying tests will be dismissed after the test. Time
will be given to students to have lunch in the canteen before the test.
Purchase of Graphing Calculator on the Second Day (5 Feb 2026)
All JC students taking H2 Math or H1 Math for A Levels
need to purchase a Graphing Calculator (GC). The vendor will be on campus
on Thursday, 5 February 2026.
